It’s that time of year again, love it or hate it it’s Valentines this month.

Personally I have never liked Valentines, I would much rather my husband buy me flowers at any other time of year than spend an absolute fortune on them for the 14th February because he feels he has to.

Valentines however does not need to be about the other half in your life though, it can simply be about YOU, when was the last time you showed yourself some love?  Self Care, Self Love whatever you prefer to call it it is important.  After all if you can’t love yourself how can anyone else love you?

So how are you going to do that?  Just stopping and taking some time out for yourself is so important if you have a family and or busy lifestyle, but equally if you are single and trying to find that special someone, taking time out to think about what it is you want and why.

I have just started going to a local gym where I can relax in the pool, jacuzzi and steam room, I love it I am able to totally switch off and process my day in a relaxed calm environment.  It is something I used to do regularly before having children and so helps me reconnect back to that time in a positive way.

Here are a few ideas of things you can include in your Self Love time:

  • Go for a run
  • Get out into Nature
  • Book yourself a Massage/Reflexology 
  • Have a Spa Day
  • Can’t afford it?  gather some friends and have your own DIY Pamper night, you can even make your own face masks!
  • Have a busy household – kick them out (NOT literally) for an afternoon or evening and run yourself a relaxing bath and pamper yourself with some love.
