I’m a bit late posting this, but 2 weeks ago I went to the Kent Woman In Business Awards 2018.
I received a telephone call a few months ago confirming that I had been nominated for an Award. I burst into tears (I am a bit of an emotional girly), you see last year when I won the Green Parent Beauty Award for my Deodorant I set myself the goal of getting a “Business Award” next.
Whether or not I won I felt so valued to have simply been nominated. The months ticked on and I completed my part of the nomination process (filling out a form saying how wonderful I am and deciding which category I should be entered into). Its quite a challenge writing all the great things you do, but actually very rewarding seeing it in black and white. I sent my forms off feeling very proud having decided to go for the Innovation Award for my Deodorant encouraging us all to check our breasts, and Retail having such a success with my online shop. This would then go before an independent panel for judging.
So the hotel was booked, I arrived very hot and flustered having literally just stepped foot in the door from taking my son to see the British Gymnastics Championships in Liverpool to then walking out again to get to the very posh Hotel in Maidstone.
I got my keys to my room and was greeted by my wonderful friend Gina – (go check her amazingness out at HERE) “would you like some Bollie?” – “oooo yes please!”, so I soaked in the bath with my Champers and got glammed up. Half an hour later we were sitting eating a wonderful meal eagerly awaiting the results.
I couldn’t quite believe it, Runner Up for Innovation and Finalist for Retail, going up to get my certificate I was shaking with excitement.
So 2 weeks on I am still patting my own back for this great achievement and can’t wait to enter more awards for more products in the future, and you never know the Kent Health and Beauty Awards are coming up, someone somewhere may even nominate me for that!
